BOROUGH HALL — A NEW CELEBRATION of Jamaican heritage is coming to New York City. Organizers plan to host a Dec. 10 kickoff at Brooklyn Borough Hall for the first Jamaican Rising Day Parade, scheduled for Aug. 1, 2026, according to the Canarsie Courier. This first U.S. parade dedicated solely to Jamaica’s cultural and civic legacy would unite the diaspora through music, dance, education and youth engagement. The parade’s proposed route would run from Nostrand and Flatbush avenues to Prospect Park, highlighting Flatbush, Crown Heights and East Flatbush — core hubs of the Jamaican experience.

The December launch will unveil partnerships, sponsorships and volunteer opportunities ahead of the 2026 parade.
